I have owned Volvos for almost 40 years. I have always had them serviced at McKevitt, mostly in Berkeley. The Service Manager in Berkeley with whom I had dealt for many years left a year or so ago, however, as did all of the service advisors I knew. And McKevitt Berkeley has stopped doing smog checks. So I decided to try an independent Volvo servicer. I asked the old Berkeley Servicer Mangaer for a recommendation, and he recommended Ackerman's. I took my current Volvo, a 2010 V70, in for a 5K service. I was really pleased. I dealt with Bruce, the owner, and Darren. They had my car ready when they said, actually earlier. And the price was reasonable. Ackerman's does not do smog checks, but the garage next door does and Ackerman's took my car over. I wish I had switched to Ackerman's years ago.
